Not sure what I would use now, probably Reaper burnt orange as a base. I always washed on a little brown to tone things down. Most of my stuff is in storage so I have no idea where my camera is currently. Hmmm, maybe I'll go look for it.jimmd68https://www.blogger.com/profile/18123896941641810076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20545599.post-54099477661834347442013-01-15T05:11:45.285-05:002013-01-15T05:11:45.285-05:00I've been messing around with similar shades f...I've been messing around with similar shades for goblins but really haven't had much luck. What colors do you use? I would love to see a photo so I could get some ideas.Blackwardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15071644608526918072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20545599.post-52131522210902674932013-01-15T04:01:25.410-05:002013-01-15T04:01:25.410-05:00I've used dark gray, grayish green and GW gree...I've used dark gray, grayish green and GW green for orcs and orange and GW green for goblins. Your more subdued green/brown/gray looks great, especially on that figure. I think I'll go back to a similar shade for orcs but I have to admit I favor the orange/tangerine tones for goblins (ala D&D).jimmd68https://www.blogger.com/profile/18123896941641810076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20545599.post-57911449004603620372012-12-28T22:41:21.004-05:002012-12-28T22:41:21.004-05:00I'll be waiting to see you goblin-town gobbos....I'll be waiting to see you goblin-town gobbos. I don't think I'm going to paint them the GW way and have been thinking about another color scheme. At this point I plan on painting them a bit darker...not quite as dark as the goblin in this post but definitely darker than the GW Hobbit version.

Looking forward to your goblin update!Blackwardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15071644608526918072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20545599.post-45327065383447883632012-12-26T19:14:22.582-05:002012-12-26T19:14:22.582-05:00Very nice job and topical too as I ponder the colo...Very nice job and topical too as I ponder the colour of my Hobbit set goblins...
I have use many shades for my orcs; greys, orangy-browns and greens, but do still prefer the pale green, especially for moria goblins...Scottswargaminghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00581220877007982139noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20545599.post-31209530839627296232012-12-25T00:16:29.452-05:002012-12-25T00:16:29.452-05:00Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the complime...Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the compliment.

I checked out your blog after finding your comment and I have to say, great work on your LotR stuff (and everything else)! I also like what you did with your War of the Ring minis. I'm inspired! Unfortunately, I only got a brief glimpse of your orcs (grey). Is there a particular post where they are shown more prominently? I would love to see them up close.Blackwardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15071644608526918072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20545599.post-75439096504223161272012-12-24T16:15:27.030-05:002012-12-24T16:15:27.030-05:00I like that goblin skin!

To tone them down and tie them together I used grey as the highlight.

My BloodBowl goblins, nonetheless, are bright green.Barkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04389368754759452544noreply@blogger.com
